Heike (59) works as a site manager at a cleaning company and acts as a liaison between clients, management, and cleaning staff on a daily basis. She attempted to poach an unofficially registered worker from a subcontractor, thereby violating regulations.

Now the subcontractor is threatening to end their partnership unless Heike guarantees him more working hours and revenue. To meet these demands, she must lay off one of her own employees—a colleague whom her friend Taja holds in high regard.

Heike finds herself increasingly caught in a conflict between her responsibility toward her own employees and the realities of the low-wage sector.
