The Pangalay of Sulu
Performance Lecture|By Bjork Colao
-
Orange Project, Bacolod City
- Price Free admission
A retelling of the Pangalay, rooted in the cultural landscape of the Sulu archipelago and the Tausug people, and expressed through its somatic fluidities. Through an ethnochoreological lens, the lecture-performance is an entry point to familiarizing the spirituality of tradition, the connection between body and ancestry, and the ecological intuition embedded in dance. The body is presented as a permitted vessel–one that carries and transmits a living practice.
