Mario and Lenz have known each other since childhood. Now in their 20s, they are on the verge of leaving the confines of their village behind. Lenz, a winegrower's son, clearly has been dealt better cards than the dreamer Mario. But suddenly everything changes. Mario loses his best friend Lenz in a terror attack. He returns to their home village in the mountains and fights the feeling that his death would have left the smaller gap.
