FROM GERMANY TO LA presented a celebration of electronic sounds and visuals, delivered by a diverse lineup of DJs and performers from Germany and Los Angeles on Friday, October 5th 2018 at The Echo + Echoplex, and Saturday, October 6th at The Globe Theatre.

 
Part of the opening week for a year-long series of events with the Year of German-American Friendship 2018/19 - Deutschlandjahr 2018/19, FROM GERMANY TO LA brings together eclectic communities from both sides of the pond for two nights of cultural discovery and experience, two nights of house music, techno, and electronica, skillfully combined with contemporary visual art. Visual enhancement comes from Cloaking, presenting 3D mapping and lighting, plus projections by Lisa Wassmann and Valquire Veljkovic. Festival artwork was designed byillustrator Opashona Ghosh (Kolkata/London/Berlin) and Tom Singier (Paris/Berlin), founder of Serigraffeur Galerie.

 
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5th:
Friday night at the The Echo + Echoplex offers a taste of Berlin’s techno scene with DJ sets from the iconic DJ Hell and Alan Oldham, plus a live modular synth performance from Lady Starlight. The evening continues with a trip into house-music history with the Reclaim the Beats stage, featuring sets by Tyree Cooper, Eric D. Clark, Whitney Day, Stacy Christine, and a live set from Sky Deep.
 
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6th:
On Saturday at The Globe Theatre, The FROM BERLIN TO LA floor features sets from Nine Inch Nilina, Anna Cavazos, and Vulinej collaborating live with Byrke Lou. The upper stage hosts Kim Anh, Tensnake, Mouse on Mars live, and DJ Koze.

FROM GERMANY TO LA is part of the Year of German-American Friendship 2018/19 – a comprehensive and collaborative initiative of the Federal Foreign Office, the Goethe-Institut, and with the support of the Federation of German Industries (BDI). The two-day festival is presented in partnership with Dublab, Reclaim the Beats Festival, and Your Mom's Agency – the Berlin platform behind the pioneering FROM BERLIN TO LA events in 2016 and 2017.
