One Breath

Young, able and in need of gainful employment, Elena decides to leave her crisis-stricken Athens home to seek greener pastures in Frankfurt. When a mandatory medical examination reveals that Elena is pregnant, she applies for a nanny position for a wealthy couple, Tessa and Jan. Elena finds the increasingly demanding nature of the couple, especially the constantly judgmental Tessa, tough to bear. When the pressures of both the job and the pregnancy leads to a horrifying incident on her watch, Elena opts to flee rather than face the consequences. Tessa then travels to Greece in search of Elena, but finds it a place where sarcastic detectives and callous criminals have little compassion for pushy, wealthy, entitled Germans.
