Are you a football aficionado with mere secondhand knowledge about Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Pro Evolution Soccer (PES)? Or perhaps you are already a PES maestro? In either case, we would like to invite you to partake in the Goethe-Institut Hanoi's e-football league: e-Goethe-Institut-Liga!
Adhering to the mandate "Library is a space for learning, making friends, and relaxing", the library of the Goethe-Institute Hanoi provides our patrons with a comfortable, state-of-the art working environment. Since May 2016, we have regularly organized German board game, with games such as Siedler von Catan, Halli Galli, or Jenga on the 4th Saturday of each month. We attract the attention and participation of a great number of game enthusiasts as well as Germanophiles. The recently acquired Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) console has immediately sparkled interest and excitement from the majority of our patrons who seek relaxation after strenuous hours of studying. To fulfill our patrons' wishes and demands for a dynamic interactive event, for the very first time, our Library is putting together an e-footbal league called e-GI-Liga, a tournament that promises to be enthralling and full of energy.

Schedule
- The group stage | 15. - 16.04.2017, from 9 AM to 5 PM
- The knockout stage | 23.04.2017, from 9 AM to 5 PM
- Venue | Goethe-Institut's Library, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh, Ha Noi
Prizes
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd runners-up will each receive a present from Goethe-Institut Hanoi.
The award for the champion team is a replica of the Meisterschale (the trophy of the German Federal League Bundesliga) and a present from Goethe-Institut Hanoi.
Eligibilities
- Target groups anyone who has an affinity for sports and Germany.
- Age: not restricted
- Knowledge of German not required.

Please fill in the registration form and send it to
bibliothek-hanoi@goethe.de or come to the library by April 7, 2017 (Note: registration is conducted on a first come first served basis).
Registration fees: VND 50,000 / team (Note: the registration fees will be refunded to the participating teams on the day of the tournament. If the team is absence or is presence but do not compete, said fees shall be appropriated for the tournament's prize money).

Regulations
- Game version: Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 (PES 2017) for Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4)
- Number of players on each team: 2
- Number of participating teams: 16
- Duration of each match: 10 minute (set as default on PS4)
- Pre-game prep time: 15 minutes (the organizers take charge of the timing)
- There shall be no extra time and penalty shootouts in the group stage
- In the knockout stage, extra time and penalty shootouts shall be employed if necessary.
The stages
- 16 teams compete within four groups of four teams each in the round-robin stage.
- The top two teams of each group are qualified for the knockout stages.
- Teams that win the playoffs enter the semifinals.
- The winners of the semifinal matches head for the final.
Rules
During the course of the tournament, each team only has one chance to substitute a player. The prizes can only be awarded to the players who participate directly in the final or the third place match.
Players cannot switch team in game.
Yellow cards and/or red cards shall be issued in the following situations:
- Yellow card: for using foul language during the tournament
- Red card: for resorting to physical violence during the tournament
Degrees of penalty
In the group stage:
- Yellow card: one point shall be deducted
- Red card: two points shall be deducted
In the knockout stage:
- Yellow card: a goal shall be awarded to the opponent of the team that committed the foul (i.e. suppose during the match between A and B, the score is 0-0, when A receives a Yellow card, the score is then 0-1: A is losing by a goal); the match resumes.
- Red card: the team committed the foul shall be eliminated on the spot.
