In one of the most important books of the German post-war period, Siegfried Lenz deals with negatively occupied concept of duty and creates an artistic liberation.

Siggi Jepsen has to write a paper on "The pleasures of duty" as a punishment work. He gives an empty booklet, while he could write enough about the subject: His father, a police officer, enforces the ban on painting opposite the artist friend Nansen and makes sure that Nansen follows through. The father also enforces the duty of fulfillment on his family: Siggi's older brother, his sister. But Siggi rebels and tries to save Nansen's pictures.

Kieu Van from the publishing house Nha Nam will present the book.
