The 2nd Long Table Session under the project Cultivating Sustainable Futures will focus on the Slow Food Movement and its role in promoting more sustainable and juster food systems. The Long Table is a collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Pretoria as part of the Week of Italian Cuisine. The culinary aspect of the Long Table Session will be curated by Culinary Pantsula, a well-known chef bridging slow food experiences with indigenous and modern ingredients and a touch of conscious haute cuisine.

The Long Table is moderated by Inolofatseng Lekaba who will keep the discussion alive and invite our special guests Amanda Lorena Romero Ferrer, a member of the slow food movement, and Siphiwe Sithole from African Marmalade Farms to share about their work in the realm of Slow Food and alternative conscious farming. Guests will join a guided walk on the farm, join the meal preparation, learn about seasonal and local produce and engage in lively discussions.
