The fourth issue of the Lingo Global magazine series offers young learners of German the opportunity to explore the topic of climate change and its impact on forests on ten pages.
Forests are important for people, animals and the climate. They give us wood and food, but above all oxygen. We need it to breathe. Trees regulate the climate. They store water and make soils fertile. We need forests to fight global warming. But humans are a danger to the forest: climate change is damaging it. Extreme drought, strong storms or floods destroy very large areas of forest. More and more people need space to live, raw materials and food. For this, they are cutting down a lot of trees. One thing is clear: how we live, what we eat and what we buy has consequences for the climate and thus for the forests. How can we protect our forests? What do we have to do for this? "Lingo Global" presents many solutions - also for your everyday life.
The learning objectives are:
vocabulary building and expansion on the topic of "The forest in the climate change"
dealing with the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations
thinking about approaches to solving a problem and discussing them
learning the facts about the role of the forest for the human being
working with charts and interpreting the data
discovering the initiatives for saving the forest and expressing own ideas
making a poster and talking about it
