Berlin-based Russian-Israeli artist
The Berlin-based Russian-Israeli singer Mary Ocher will have an appearance at the Festival of Jewish Arts & Music (FOJAM) in Melbourne as part of her Australian-New Zealand tour in September 2019.
For over a decade she has used her art to creatively tackle ideas of displacement, authority, gender, nationalism and other acute topics linked to her background and complex identity.
Her music ranges from traditional folk to raw 60s garage, ambient with ethereal vocals and experimental pop. The Goethe-Institut supports Mary Ocher's tour to Australia and New Zealand.
At FOJAM, she will perform a solo set on piano in the Salon, as well as a DJ set on the balcony in the evening.
