Ten Days on the Island festival presents German-British performance collective

At this year’s Ten Days on the Island festival, night-time Launceston will become a film set, when the German-British arts collective Gob Squad takes to the streets to shoot an action adventure movie.

„Super Night Shot“ begins exactly one hour before the audience comes to watch it. The four performers start their cameras simultaneously and set off into the night. 60 minutes later they meet again and present what they have filmed to the waiting audience.

An experience halfway between theatre and film, „Super night Shot“ strives to elevate the banality of everyday life into the glamour and glitz of a big screen blockbuster. It is complelety unpredictable. Anything can happen, and usually does.

„Super Night Shot“ has been performed in four languages, with nearly 200 unique presentations since the project’s inception in 2003. Each presentation is shot and screened only once in the host city. Although a now-classic work of Gob Squad, it is still as fresh, dangerous and exciting as the day the four performers first stepped onto the icy streets of Berlin.
