Lending
In our library you will find books, magazines, films, music, apps and games in German. Our translated titles also offer non-German readers the opportunity to find out about literature, culture, society, politics and current affairs in Germany. Another focus is our collection of German as a foreign language.
The library is open to the general public. Use of Reference materials is free of cost. To borrow books and other materials, you need a valid library card. To obtain a membership, please fill in an application form and present one proof of address (copy of your passport, National identity card, etc.).
Fees
Library card is available for the following fees:- Use of books and Media in the library: Free
- Membership with right to borrow: BDT 1.000 per year
- Membership with right to borrow: BDT 800 per half-year
- Special membership with right to borrow: Free per quarter
Loan periods
- Books: 3 weeks
- Language books, DVDs: 2 weeks
Renewals
The loan period may be extended twice, provided other library users have not reserved the materials. We regret that loans for DVDs, and language books cannot be renewed. For renewals, please writeto library-dhaka@goethe.de
Opening Hours
Saturday to Wednesday: 10 am to 5 pm with self-check-in/out.
Library tours are possible by arrangement.
