Although eco-friendly, ethical, and sustainable fashion has only been a recent awakening for the global fashion industry, Bangladesh has been a quiet champion practicing it in silence for multiple generations. 

This is a space where we invite women (and their others) to imagine ‘culture’ as a site of contention and possibility, time and superluminal travel. 

Korail-City of Culture aims to redefine design culture and creative industries by supporting sustainable cultural practices among practitioners in Korail and sharing this knowledge globally. The young residents of Korail, supported by Paraa, has led efforts to create a universally accessible community-driven cultural space, engaging in participatory design and training to enhance their skills in managing and shaping public spaces.

Our Young Feminism Network leveraged their work and passion to create various on-site and online events across generations, genders, class, Bangladesh, Germany, UK, and India to discuss contemporary societal questions along with the International Women’s Day 2022.

In 2021, Germany’s federal government joined a global trend when it committed itself in its coalition agreement to a feminist foreign policy. Sweden, Canada, Luxembourg, France, Mexico, Spain, Libya, Chile and the Netherlands had already declared that their foreign policy – or parts of it – would be given a feminist orientation. But what is meant by such a policy approach and what form does it take in practice in Germany?

Bogus audios imitating politicians’ voices, AI-augmented robo-calling or fictional TV anchors: artificial intelligence offers a magnitude of new ways to spread disinformation. In an era of global crises, it represents a genuine threat to democracy.
