One hundred and fifty years after his birth, Konrad Adenauer remains a key figure in Europe’s post-war history. More than almost any other politician, he shaped Germany’s political and social reorientation after the Second World War. His commitment to reconciliation, European cooperation, and Germany’s integration into the European community continues to resonate today. Against the backdrop of current challenges, an important question arises: What inspiration can Adenauer’s political thinking offer for Europe in the 21st century?

This series of events invites participants to rediscover Konrad Adenauer’s political legacy and to discuss its relevance for the present day. The programme includes a panel discussion on the topic “150 Years of Konrad Adenauer – What Can We Learn from Adenauer for Europe Today?”, a special course examining the historical and political significance of his work, and a film evening featuring a screening of One Day in September. Together, these events explore the life, achievements, and European vision of the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, while opening up perspectives for the future of Europe.
