This is a series of dialogues between researchers, managers and civil society from Latin America and Europe, and especially between Brazil and Germany, on the use of emerging technologies for social participation, such as artificial intelligence, IOT, open data.

Topics to be discussed are:
  • Difficulties and barriers
    The difficulties governments are facing when implementing online participation processes
  • Technological Trends
    Trends and good practices of online participation identified experiences and case studies
  • Democracy challenges
    How online participation process can impact democracy and State-Society Relationship
  • State Capacities
    How the State must be organized to implement effective online participation initiatives
The webinar series is a product of the research projectScope – State Capacity in Smart Cities for Online Participation. The research is is hosted by the Institute of Political Science (Ifpol) at the University of Münster and supported by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education of Brazil (CAPES) and by the Brazil Center of the University of Münster, Germany.
The webinar series initiative also has the institutional partnership of the International Digital Dialogues of the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport and the Goethe-Institut São Paulo.
