What are the technical requirements?

Mac, PC or laptop; tablet or iPad with external keyboard (smartphones and other small devices are not adequate) Headset with microphone Stable internet connection, WIFI with sufficient bandwidth, especially for the virtual meetings

Do I need to buy a textbook?

No, you do not need to buy a textbook for online courses and blended learning courses. We provide all course materials on our learning platform.

How do I get access to the learning platform and live meetings?

You will receive the access data to our learning platform Moodle and the virtual meetings on Zoom by email before the course starts.

What does self-studying online mean?

50% of a Blended Learning course consists of self-paced online learning. You will get access to the learning platform where you will find the online part of the course you have chosen. This part includes motivating and varied exercises, flash cards to work on your vocabulary, as well as summaries of all the important grammatical structures and common phrases you learn during your course. Your online tutor provides you with weekly exercises that you can complete at your own pace during the respective week. These exercises prepare you for your weekly in-person or virtual classroom sessions where you meet with your class. Most of the online activities are conducted individually. However, there are also interactive exercises during which you interact with your learning group on the learning platform.

What is the difference between blended learning in presence and blended learning online?

In both course formats, you work 50% independently on the learning platform, where you receive regular and individual feedback from your teacher. The other 50% takes place either at the Goethe-Institut (blended learning in presence) or in virtual live sessions via Zoom (blended learning online).

What is the difference between a blended learning course in a group an online individual courses?

In a blended learning course, you meet with the instructor and the learning group over Zoom every week at a set time. In more intensive courses, you meet twice or more often per week. An online individual course can start at any time. You work independently on the learning platform to complete your workload in an agreed timeframe. You will meet your teacher in 1 to 2 live sessions. You set the dates of these live sessions with your teacher. Additional sessions can be booked.
