Amelie is a true and stubborn Berliner. She is 13 and she doesn't like being told what to do – especially not by her parents, who are sending her to a special clinic in South Tyrol following a life-threatening asthma attack.
Instead of letting herself be helped, she escapes because she hates both parental and medical infantilizing. She flees to where nobody would suspect: uphill. In the middle of the Alps she meets a mysterious 15-year old boy named Bart. Together, they embark on an adventurous journey, of hopeful wonder and true friendship.
