- You book the Private German Lessons course with either 10, 20 or 30 lessons, to take place at your desired location.
- The relevant Goethe-Institut will then phone you as soon as possible to discuss your specific wishes and objectives for the course, the potential timeframe (mornings, evenings, during the week, on Saturday) and your desired location.
- The Private German Lessons course can be taken on site at Goethe-Institut or via an online conferencing tool (e.g. Zoom).
- Once we have discussed your needs on the phone, we will e-mail you our free placement test so that we can determine your current language level.
- Based on your expectations and when you are available, we will select a suitable Goethe teacher for you and organise the first dates as requested.
- Our recommendation: to enable you to make the best possible progress, we recommend arranging a date comprising 2 lessons (each lasting 45 minutes) in one go (total of 90 minutes), 2 to 3 times per week.
Levels offered
The number of lessons that are usually needed to achieve a certain language level and, if applicable, obtain the relevant Goethe certificate depends on how frequent your lessons are and how much time you can spend practising outside of your lessons. Individual aspects such as your language learning experience and native language also play an important role. We will grade you before the start of the course in order to ensure optimal learning success.
In private lessons you will make particularly fast progress, because the lesson content is always individually compiled for our course participants.
Uwe Mohr, Director Goethe-Institut Frankfurt
- The content of your German Private or Small Group Lessons are geared to your aims and needs.
- The teacher will draw up a bespoke learning programme for you and can cover different aspects of the German language to suit your circumstances. For example, this could be general basic skills in reading, listening, speaking and writing; technical vocabulary; or a more in-depth look at specific areas such as certain grammatical structures or pronunciation.
- If you wish, your teacher will also help you prepare for the content, topics and format of exams.
