Brecht in Pictures

This exhibition presents a carefully curated selection of photographs of Bertolt Brecht as well as impressive stage scenes from his plays.

The images have come from the Bertolt Brecht Archive at the Akademie der Künste, Berlin, and have included, among others, photographs of Brecht with Helene Weigel, his wife and the artistic director of the Berliner Ensemble, rehearsal photos from The Caucasian Chalk Circle, and other rare visual documents.
