Mother Courage and her Children

The drama "Mother Courage and Her Children" was written by Bertolt Brecht. It is about Anna Fierling, also known as Mother Courage. She is a merchant in Europe during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) and sells her goods to soldiers. Her three children accompany her. The war is a good source of income for Mother Courage, but her children are killed because of it during the course of the plot.

It was written in 1939 and premiered in 1941.
