Screenwriter, director, translator, lecturer, born in 1960, studied theatre studies in the master's program at Humboldt University from 1985 to 1988. He was managing director of the Ethiopian National Theatre from 1992 to 1996 and its general director from 2018 to 2025.
Manyazewal Endeshaw has directed more than twenty plays. These include works he translated himself, including plays by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Georg Büchner, Max Frisch and Arthur Schnitzler. In addition, his 35 mm short film "The Father" was produced by M-Net, and his work ENGIDA "The Guest" was published in the collection "African Theatre Six Plays from East & West Africa" in Great Britain.
