We actively promote cultural exchange between Germany and Finland. Together with our Finnish partners, we organise film series, exhibitions, concerts, seminars and festivals across the country. We invite cultural professionals from Germany to Finland and create opportunities for dialogue on current social issues. Our aim is to strengthen exchange and build new connections between the two countries.

Current projects

Guarding the Baltic Sea

Guarding the Baltic Sea is a multidisciplinary art project set on the island ofVartiosaari, located in the Helsinki archipelago in Finland. It aims to raise awareness of the ecological challenges facing the Baltic Sea and other bodies of water, including climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. The project brings together artists from Finland, Estonia, Poland, Germany, and France.

Author-in-residence

The Author-in-residence is a joint project of the Goethe-Institut Finland, the literary organization Nuoren Voiman Liitto, and the magazine Nuori Voima. It offers authors of fiction or poetry from Germany the opportunity to live and write in Helsinki for four weeks.
