The Pine Islands

Marion Poschmann

Gilbert Silvester, a lecturer whose research topic is beard fashion, spontaneously leaves his wife and goes on a trip to Japan because he dreamt that she was cheating on him. In Japan he meets the suicidal student Yosa with whom he follows in the footsteps of the classical poet Basho, a poet of the late 17th century. His aim is also to see the moon over the pine islands, to lose himself in nature and find inner peace.
