Professor Benjamin Meyer-Krahmer had introduced the conceptual framework of the MA programme Cultures of the Curatorial at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig. It is tightly interweaving theory and practice. One of the questions which the MA program addresses: In which way is the curatorial relevant within the cultural field under the conditions of globalisation? The public talk took place in Delhi in April 2017.

My first impression of India…
that it will take much time and lots of encounters, to get a better understanding of how Indian society works. That impression has not changed at all, even after the first five trips to India.

Things in Delhi that remind me of my hometown Berlin…

One thing I’ve noticed in India (that’s not so typical in Germany)…
the fabulous food.

Benjamin Meyer-Krahmer (Leipzig / Berlin) teaches art history, visual culture and cultures of the curatorial at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig where he has just been appointed as full professor. In his research he focuses on epistemology of artistic, curatorial and scholarly practices. His writings comprise a monograph on the Swiss artist Dieter Roth, edited anthologies on topics related to artistic practice and the curatorial as well as articles in the field of art criticism. Benjamin Meyer-Krahmer studied Comparative Literature in Tübingen, New York and Berlin.
