Stepping Out, Settling in

Every year, thousands of young professionals from India embark on a journey to Germany, supported by the Skilled Immigration Act. But what does this journey truly look like? This innovative project brings their stories to life through animated stories by visual artists.

Kunst Kiosk

Kunst Kiosk aims to give art lovers access to relevant approaches and trends in contemporary art from Germany and India. These presentations are shown in an installation titled “Grounded Grid: Encounter of Circles”, created by the renowned artist and art mediator Sanchayan Ghosh.

Science Film Festival

In 2025, India will celebrate the 9th edition of the Science Film Festival. The Goethe-Institutes in New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, and Goethe Zentrum Hyderabad, in collaboration with their respective partner schools and institutions, will host the festival from October to December. This year, the festival focuses on “Green Jobs”.

Max Mueller's Indo-European Legacies

The Goethe-Institut marks the 200th birth anniversary of the eminent philologist Friedrich Max Mueller on December 6, 2023. This occasion is dedicated to observing the profound contributions of Max Mueller, one of the pivotal figures of Indology, whose inter-cultural sympathies and understanding have left an indelible mark on the intellectual landscape.

On Cables and Cumulus

An artistic installation by Katja Davar at the staircase of Goethe-Institut Kolkata. In the main stairwell, a seventeen metre long textile work digitally collaged from Davar’s pencil drawings of clouds, cascades through the building.
