For a long time the reactions of Earth to our human actions remained unnoticed, and have now finally – not least due to recent international climate protests – moved into public consciousness. The exhibition project Critical Zones invites visitors to engage with the critical situation of the Earth in a novel and diverse way and to explore new modes of coexistence between all forms of life.

Period: 3rd February – 9th March 2024
Venue: Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi

About the Open Call

Do you break out in sweat when temperatures rise past unimaginable thresholds?
Do you measure every breath you take when you process the AQI readings for the day in the city where you live?
Do you worry about the disappearance of bees, snails, sparrows, and butterflies?
Do you obsess over sanitation maps, and sewage pipelines, and their relationship to caste?
Does irregular ovulation and declining sperm count bother you into thinking about what might be causing them?
Do you hear whales singing even if you live far inland?
Are you sentimentally attached to seismographs and thermometers?
Do you think about the amount of clutter in outer space?
Do you hear rivers talk to you in unknown languages?
Do you log into the internet of fungi in your dreams?
Are you short of breath?
Do you swim, dive, run, hike, take long forest-bathing walks?
Are you an artist, do you want your work to make people think, feel, and consider our future in the only planet that we can call home in the whole universe, as of now?
If so, read on…
