Art Exhibition (3. - 30.11.2023)
»Otto Dix – Social Criticism & War (1920-1924)«

Otto Dix (1891-1969) is renowned as one of Germany’s most pivotal artists in the time of the Weimar Republic. He depicted its excesses and contradictions with an unflinchingly critical eye. The exhibition focusses on his prints, the lithographs and etchings that he produced during the early 1920s. They demonstrate that Dix was not only an uncompromising chronicler of his time, often portraying those who found themselves on the margins of society, but also provide proof of an impressive technique, excelling in experimentation, that pushed the medium to its limits.
