INPUT Calgary 2016

As one of our main goals is to connect Sri Lanka with other countries worldwide, we have started to present INPUT in Sri Lanka in 2016 by supporting a Sri Lankan TV expert to participate at the INPUT Calgary 2016.

Athula Disanayaka, TV Producer and Director of the Documentary Unit from the Sri Lanka Rupavahini (TV) Corporation was the Sri Lankan delegate at INPUT Calgary 2016. It was an experience allowing him to exchange ideas and discuss television programme production with television representatives from around the world, while at the same time opening the door for future Sri Lankan TV makers to take part in the conference. His participation at the INPUT Calgary and the cooperation with the Sri Lanka Rupavahini (TV) Corporation, has lead to rewarding changes in the Sri Lankan TV production scene: for the first time, we have organized a Mini-INPUT in Colombo to present the best of INPUT Calgary to the Sri Lankan TV-experts.
From May 8–12, 2016, the annual INPUT conference had taken place in the vibrant cultural city of Calgary, Canada. More than 80 programs from 34 countries were selected and grouped by an international jury in 29 sessions. These made the discussions and the exchange of thoughts lively, interesting and inspiring for TV makers from around the world.
Many topics were brought up and fueled intensive conversations. Many questions were raised: up to which degree will Virtual Reality have an impact on broadcasting? Where are the limits of cross media projects? What are the recipes for success and co-operation? The discussions never stopped.
