Goethe Hall

A group of prisoners manages to escape from a concentration camp with the help of a camp physician, who has arbitrarily picked them out. In the woods the escapees, who come from different countries, find a hiding-place in a hole in the ground in which other fugitives have been hiding out for months. They are living there in constant danger of being discovered by German patrols. When a young German soldier falls into their hands, they pronounce judgement on him and eventually let him go, because they are unable to prove his individual guilt. In the end they are threaten with starvation. Their salvation comes when the German army retreats from this area.
