Professional development courses in Germany help German teachers enhance their teaching skills, improve their language proficiency, and gain intercultural experience.

Experienced and motivated German teachers and eligible partners of our Pedagogical Liaison Office may apply for a scholarship to attend a German language course. Courses also offer preparation for internationally recognized German proficiency examinations.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIPS

The Goethe-Institut Philippinen is offering language and professional development scholarships in Germany for several weeks in 2027 to Filipino German teachers working at schools or universities in the Philippines.

The scholarships cover in-person participation in a language or methodological course for German teachers in Germany. Selected courses also include an online learning phase. Detailed information on the individual programs, including the respective format, language proficiency level, and exact dates, can be found in the attached document.

Applying for a scholarship requires commitment to full participation in the seminar, including the cultural program. Please let us know in advance which professional development program in Germany you are interested in.

Seminar fees
Roundtrip international airfare
Visa fees
Accommodations during the course
Travel allowance
Cultural program

The scholarship also includes a mandatory online pre-departure orientation and post-program meeting with all scholarship recipients. Information regarding the exact date will be provided after the scholarships have been awarded.

QUALIFICATIONS

German language teacher or trainer in the field of German as a foreign language
Filipino nationality
Employment at a Philippine school or university for the next two years
Proof of the German language proficiency required for the desired seminar (to be submitted upon successful selection)
Participation in preparatory and follow-up meetings
Interest in actively helping to shape the DaF network in the Philippines
Interest in exchanging ideas with other DaF teachers
