No prior language skills are needed—just an open mind and a willingness to explore. Come and see just how much you can discover in just a few minutes at a time.
About the European day of Languages
Since 2001, the European Day of Languages taking place on 26 September every year, aims at celebrating linguistic and cultural diversity in Europe and encouraging lifelong language learning among citizens. During this day, millions of people in the European Council's member states and elsewhere organise or take part in activities to promote linguistic diversity and the ability to speak other languages.
The overall aim is to raise awareness of Europe's linguistic and cultural diversity, the preservation and promotion of which is of great importance. At the same time, it aims to increase the number of languages that people learn throughout their lives in order to strengthen their multilingual skills and promote intercultural understanding. The European Day of Languages is an opportunity to celebrate all the languages of Europe, including those that are less widely spoken and the languages of migrants.
