4. Course level assignment/class size
4.1 Placement in course levels is based on the placement test conducted at the Goethe-Institut Philippinen. A schedule for a placement test will be arranged by the Language Course Office at a fee of PHP 1000. If the previous course was taken a year ago, Goethe Institut Philippines allows the right to require another Placement test in order to enroll to a higher level course.
4.2 Endorsements are part of a recommendation scheme in place for students who wish to pursue higher levels. Being endorsed by the teacher for the next level allows the student to enroll without having to take a certification examination. These endorsements are based on the student's performance throughout the course, including attendance, assignments, exams, and active participation. Please note that endorsements do not replace our certificate of attendance or examination certification and are only used internally by the Goethe-Institut Philippinen.
The Endorsement letter is valid for up to six months from the date of issuance. Enrollments beyond this six-month period will require either a placement test or a Goethe Zertifikat. If the student does not receive an endorsement letter, a Goethe Zertifikat will be required to enroll in a higher-level course.
4.3 Goethe-Institut Philippinen reserves the right to amend or postpone its courses and change course details such as fees, times, materials, rooms and instructors in case of inclement weather for the safety of our students.
4.4 The required minimum number of students per class is 12 persons. Students may move to another course schedule or receive a full refund should the course be cancelled. This term is not applicable for individual courses.
4.5 All teachers receive standardized training procedures to ensure consistency in education delivery. We do not allow the choosing of teachers. Students are expected to adhere to this policy to maintain effectiveness of the education system.
5. Responsibilities of participants
Participants are obliged to comply with the course rules and regulations applicable to the Goethe-Institut Philippinen. This means that they are on time when classes start, concentrate on classes, contribute actively to the learning process and refrain from disturbing the learning process by diverting the attention of other students. This implies that participants dress in an appropriate way during classes according to the norms which apply to public spaces. This covers also courses which take place in the digital environment and covers both profile pictures and live-pictures of participants.
Students should attend classes in a private setting where Participants can focus without distractions. This practice helps maintain the integrity of our online learning environment and ensures that all enrolled students receive the intended educational experience. Additionally, students are not allowed to share lessons or class access with individuals who are not officially enrolled in the course.
