För sjätte gången (29/10-1/11) presenterar REX Animation Film Festival ny animerad film från hela Europa. Förutom alla dokumentära och experimentella filmer utlovas en mängd föredrag och workshops. I år erbjuds även en online-festival och ett antal
samarbetsevenemang runt om i Stockholmsregionen. 

REX Animation Film Festival grundades på initiativ av EUNIC-Stockholm (European Union National Institutes for Culture) och genomförs i samarbete av 13 europeiska kulturinstitut och ambassader, bl.a. Goethe-Institut Schweden.

The film follows Johns voice and deals with body and identity. The pictures as well as the sound generate an intimate, almost immediate proximity to the spoken words and the speaker himself.

Freeze frame: the most absurd technique since the invention of the moving image. Through an elaborate process of duplicating the same image over and over again, it creates the illusion of stillness. In this stop motion film, identical figures perform the hopeless task of preserving blocks of ice, like archivists. The repetitive movements reanimate the animals captured inside.
