The festival will open with the alpine thriller THE FIGHT FOR MATTERHORN. The story is based on a true historical account of two climbing parties in a race to summit one of the highest peaks in the Alps.

"Because we are so far away from German-speaking countries, our German learners have very few opportunities in normal daily life to apply what they have learned ", says one German teacher in Thailand. To help increase these opportunities for its course participants, the Goethe-Institut Thailand came up with an idea to encourage students to practise their language skills in a meaningful, fun way!
In 2019, the event takes place internationally in over 20 countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa from October 07 to December 23. The Science Film Festival is currently open to submissions until March, 22.
Nothing connects people from different backgrounds as much as a pleasurable meal. With this in mind, the Goethe-Institutes of Southeast Asia are bringing the countries of the region together around the table. During the course of November 2018, the project Wanderlust Küche - A Culinary Dialogue will unite Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand under the motto Tables without Borders.
