Robert Motherwell’s ‘Elegy to the Spanish Republic’

The American artist Robert Motherwell produced over 150 paintings in his series Elegy to the Spanish Republic. Although the pieces differed, each featured black, abstract and geometric shapes. These shapes gave a heaviness to the series. My mobile was created with the aim of conveying the simplicity of this heaviness.
