Supanee Sonchaiwanich and Krit Niramittham play Chopin, Ravel, Schumann and Pēteris Vasks

Thai cellist Supanee Sonchaiwanich and Thai pianist Krit Niramittham present an extraordinary programme of solo and duo pieces for cella and piano.

Chopin, Cello Sonata in G minor, Op. 65 (cello, piano) Chopin, Etude, Op. 25, No. 7 (piano) Ravel, Pavane pour une infante défunte (piano) Pēteris Vasks, Grāmata čellam (cello) Schumann's Fantasiestücke, Op. 73 (cello, piano)

Cellist Supanee Sonchaiwanich is a recipient of various prizes including the Beethoven Competition in Thailand, the Final Beethoven Competition in Thailand and Thailand 3rd International String Competition. She performs regularly as a chamber musician and orchestral player across Switzerland and Bangkok. She performed with the RCM Symphony Orchestra, RCM Philharmonic Orchestra, London Firebird Orchestra, the Outcry Ensemble. She was the principal cellist at The Princess Galyani Vadhana Youth Orchestra. Supanee graduated from Shrewsbury International School. She received a Bachelor of Music from the Royal College of Music London where she studied with Raphael Wallfisch. Currently, she is studying Masters of Performance Concert at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Zurich, Switzerland with Orfeo Mandozzi.

Dr. Krit Niramittham won the 1st prize at the Siam Kolkarn Piano Competition and the 1st prize at the Conrad Young Musician of Thailand Competition (organized by the Royal Over-Seas League London and Thailand). Dr. Krit holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Piano Performance from Conservatoire de Lausanne (HEMU) in Switzerland, where he studied the piano under Jean-François Antonioli, contemporary music with William Blank, and chamber music with Vincent Coq. He received the Doctoral Degree in Music Education (Ed.D.) from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He has presented his works at local and international platforms, such as the 12th International Research in Music Education Conference (RiME) organized by Royal College of Music, London, the 12th Asia Pacific Symposium for Music Education Research (APSMER) in Macau, and Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. Currently, Dr. Krit teaches at Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music in Thailand.
