Bernhard Schlink, the author of ‘The Reader’ (Der Vorleser) and Judith Hermann, the author of ‘Home’ (Daheim), are the two German contemporary authors whose books flawlessly capture perspective and living conditions of the Germans during certain historical time, while mingling vivid narrative of landscape in Germany.
