Chess Corner in the Library

Sometimes life can be like a game of chess…

Our library has opened its doors to members of "The Rooky chess community", who are facing off against one another from March through to June. Winners will advance to compete in ‘The Rooky Monthly’ and will be rewarded with special prizes.  

Games are being played during opening hours at times arranged by the players, but everyone is welcome to come and watch. After the game is over, you are welcome to speak with the players, exchange insights, and discuss strategies or tips related to the game.

Chess sets are available for use in the library. Just like the books and other games, the chess sets can be borrowed so you can play at home with your friends and family.

Mo - Thu: 09:30 – 18:00
Fri (self-service): 09:30 – 17:00
Sat: 08:00 – 17:00
Sun (26.04 – 05.07.26): 08:30 – 16:30
