Good Bye, Lenin! (2546 / 121 min.)

Shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall, a mother devoted to East German communist ideals suffers a heart attack and falls into a coma after seeing her child arrested during an anti-government protest. She wakes up eight months later, after the Berlin Wall has fallen. The doctor informs Alex and Ariane, her children, that she must not be exposed to any further emotional shock, as it could cause her condition to deteriorate. The two therefore devise an elaborate plan to lie to their mother, convincing her that the world of East Germany remains unchanged.
