Our Library is open Mondays through Fridays from 1:00 to 6:30pm.

Starting in February we are also open from 1:00 to 5:00pm on the first and third Saturdays of the month.


Our library is open to the public and the in-house use of books, audio-visual media and information services is free of charge.


The eLibrary is the virtual library of the Goethe-Institut New York for the USA. This service allows you to borrow digital media for a predetermined period of time.

German Book Club

The Book Club of the Goethe-Institut New York reads contemporary works of German literature. If you'd like to join a discussion with others who are interested in German literature, then this is the place for you.

Translation Grant Program

The Goethe-Institut's translation grant program provides support to non-German publishers for the publication of titles translated from the German.
