Helen & Kurt Wolff Translator's Prize

The annual Helen & Kurt Wolff Translator's Prize honors an outstanding literary translation from German into English published in the USA/Canada the previous year. The translator of the winning translation receives $5,000 and a trip to the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Gutekunst Prize of the Friends of Goethe New York

In 2010 the Goethe-Institut New York created a prize to identify outstanding young translators and to assist them in establishing contact with the translation and publishing communities. The application period for the 2024 prize is now open. The deadline to submit completed translations is April 19, 2024.

The Goethe-Institut’s translation grant program supports non-German publishers in publishing German-language literature, with the aim of making works accessible to non-German speaking readers.
