After “Just in Time” (Letters to Dance) in 2018, deufert&plischke return to the Odyssey Theatre with The Eerie Atlas – A Worn World.
In their workshops, deufert&plischke offer together with local choreographers a range of experiences like audio walks, somatic practices, writing and choreographic exercises, clothes swaps, and costume ateliers. Here local communities can exchange memories about clothes, explore movements and collect images and stories. We wear clothes all our lives. They protect us and our bodies, not only against cold and heat. They are loved and thrown away, replaced, gifted, and collected. Clothes carry memories of people and places, define economic conditions, are culturally significant, have historically dictated gender, reflect our manner of thinking about society and … are fun!
Each workshop is limited to a maximum of 15 participants. Masks are required.
One of the following is required for admittance: Proof of Vaccination OR Proof of a Negative COVID Test performed within 72 hours of the event.
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring (or wear) a piece of clothing that is important to you, so we can share our stories.

deufert&plischke
For over twenty years the work of the artist duo deufert&plischke can be found at the intersection of dance, society and media. Their pieces are created in an open process with people contributing their memories and stories. Through choreography, photography, text and video they create transdisciplinary surroundings where one can spend time. Contrary to a representative understanding of performance, theater is a space through which you can move, that you can explore, a space that changes and grows. Contact and exchange are a choreography in process that is developed in a collective effort. Their multiple dance and art projects earned several awards and are presented all over the world. Kattrin Deufert and Thomas Plischke are teaching professors in Hamburg and Essen among other cities. Since 2021 they live in the countryside by Wuppertal where they are establishing Spinnerei Schwelm as a place for experimental art for everyone.
