Founded in 2011 and based at the University of Bremen, the Virtual Academy of Sustainability offers students an innovative teaching program for education for sustainable development.
The offer includes numerous online lectures by renowned university lecturers on various topics of sustainability and with reference to the Sustainable Development Goals. The free courses can be taken by students as part of their elective or supplementary studies, or can be integrated directly into the curriculum by university lecturers.
For its innovative teaching concept and its contribution to the implementation of the UNESCO World Action Program "Education for Sustainable Development", the Virtual Academy for Sustainability has already received several awards from the World Action Program itself and from the German Council for Sustainable Development.
