This hands-on presentation guides participants through the process of "reading" a cultural landscape through a geographic perspective to gain insight into how photograph analysis can be further implemented into their own classrooms. Tips and techniques for examining a landscape will help guide participants into how landscape analysis can be a useful tool for better understanding the relationship between people and their physical environment. Modern day Germany, with a focus on the "landscape of memory," will be used as an emphasis area that can be extended to be helpful in talking about issues in geography, history, civics, current events, and world culture classes.
