Martha (Faligant) is from France, Yasmin (Zaree) is from Germany, and Jamie (Gilz) is from the U. S.; together the three millennials share an apartment in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district.
Feeling guilty about not having done enough to “help” and driven by her desire to “do something good,” Martha convinces her housemates to allow a spare room in the apartment to be used to house a refugee. Through the help of an NGO, Samuel, an asylum seeker from Cameroon, is placed in the home.
The young group quickly accepts Samuel into their home and each member helps him to integrate not only into the household, but in Germany as well. When Samuel’s situation takes a dramatic turn, the group is suddenly faced with a serious question: How dedicated are they to helping Samuel, and how far are they willing to go to help?
