Laura Lootens: Diabolico
Concert|US tour by German classical guitarist
- Price $37/$49
- Part of series: Among Friends: Over Bridges, AMONG FRIENDS
Known for a sound that commands attention from the very first note, German classical guitarist Laura Lootens is widely regarded as one of the most exciting voices in classical guitar today. Her performances combine fearless virtuosity with a striking stage presence, shaped by a deep fascination with contrast—where tension and release drive the music forward.
As part of her U.S. tour, Lootens brings her acclaimed artistry to audiences across the country. The tour follows major international milestones, including her debut at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and appearances at leading festivals such as the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. She also performs as a soloist with major orchestras, including the Hessian State Orchestra Wiesbaden.
Lootens’ second album, Diabolico (Naïve, 2025), was selected by Apple Music as one of its “Albums of the Month,” with Gramophone praising her “exceptional command of the instrument” and her capacity for pure theatre and drama.
A musical prodigy, Lootens began her university studies at just fifteen. After winning First Prize at the 2022 Andrés Segovia International Competition, she joined the faculty of the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich at the age of twenty-two.
