From December 6, 2025, to March 29, 2026 the exhibition TECHNO WORLDS officially took place at the MACA Art Center in Beijing. Initiated by the Goethe-Institut in 2021, this project made its debut in China this time - co-presented by the Goethe-Institut China and the MACA Art Center. Based on its global tour, the exhibition added 3 new works by Chinese artists: Oz by Cao Fei, East Berlin in Beijing by Narankuu, and the work created by Zheng Ke during his opening performative lecture Iron Shed, 3:17am: Corridors, Cavities and Crack Repair — A Confession of an Acoustic Hinterland. These three works by Chinese artists explore local scenes of resistance and gathering shaped by the spirit of techno music, realizing an organic integration of global narrative and local expression.

During the exhibition period, public activities focused on the development history of electronic music, the cultural contexts of different countries and regions, as well as the experiences and voices of witnesses from different eras. Held weekly in the forms of film screenings, talks, workshops and live performances, these activities enabled the audience to understand the evolutionary logic of electronic music at the technical, social and cultural levels through participation. At the same time, issues related to female musicians, sexual minorities and people with disabilities were consciously introduced, which helped enrich the local social context of the exhibition.
