hard play│soft bodies is an immersive performance that brings together artists from the Canton area to explore how their choreographic practices are shaped by distinct social, political, and cultural realities. With artists from Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Macao, the project begins with the question: How does each artist’s local context influence their practice, and how do these differing realities intersect?

The performance takes the form of an immersive game played by the artists, where shifting aesthetics, modes of attention, and relational regimes unfold. hard play│soft bodies becomes an invitation to reflect on how movement is embedded in broader societal forces, offering an immersive landscape where dance, context, and world-building intersect.
