“Goethe to Lavater, 1779: ‘But let us leave our particular religions untouched. I am
convinced of the truth of the five senses’.”

The objective of this project is to incorporate the diaphanous voice of artistic sound and visual expressions into the present moment, thereby establishing a source of revelation that facilitates reflection on the theme of peace and war in the contemporary era. This objective originates from the oeuvre of German visual artist Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945) and constitutes a component of an artistic research process that aims to develop a transductive and metaphorical product. This is achieved through an intercultural and interdisciplinary perspective, whereby her art is conceptualised as an archive that is waiting to be activated in order to establish a constant dialogue between sound and visuals.
