The Other One

The Other One is a site-specific performative project by HEW (House for the End of the World), featuring three interdisciplinary artists in an abandoned suite of Boston University science labs. It explores dependency, displacement, and distortion through live performance, AI-driven sculpture, and sound composition. Katz’s endurance-based performance activates the space, while Srbić’s AI-driven 3D printer acts as a non-human performer, responding in real time to translate ephemeral actions into sculptural artifacts. Fineberg’s sound composition blends live instrumentalists with urban noise, blurring distinctions between composed and environmental sound. The project redefines performance, merging algorithmic agency, embodied action, and sonic space to explore perception, memory, and the transient nature of place. Supported by BU, Goethe-Institut & the Boston Public Art Triennial, the project integrates performance and immersive interventions, culminating in a recontextualized Berlin presentation.
