German Teacher Trainee

The Goethe-Institut in Dhaka is looking for committed trainees with a good knowledge of German who want to become a German teacher. We offer a professional 15-month practical and theoretical training programme.

We offer

  • Before the training: B2 German language course & examination. Value 68,000 BDT
  • Phase 1: 4-week online group seminar “11 Bausteine” on teaching at the Goethe-Institut (44 x 45 minutes); Value 50,000 BDT
  • 16 weeks of closely guided classroom and online course observation and teaching up to 90 minutes. Value 1 lakh BDT
  • Online group training and exchange with ”Deutsch Lehren Lernen (DLL)”, modules 1-6 including a final test after completion. Value: 2250,00 EUR / 2.66 Lakh BDT
  • 2 x 90-minute teaching tests “Lehrprobe 1 & 2”. Value: 12,000 BDT
  • C1 German language course & examination. Value: 43,000 BDT
  • A1-B1 examiner’s training, German cultural studies, and digital teaching seminar. Value: 1,3 Lakh BDT
  • Additional continuous training seminars on the job
  • The ability to teach independently and generate income after 5 months into the training
  • An attractive compensation scheme after completion of the training
  • A 2-year bond (2000 teaching units of 45 minutes) with the Goethe-Institut Bangladesh

TOTAL TRAINING VALUE: 6,69 LAKH BDT – free of charge for all graduates.

What we expect from you

  • Proven German language skills of B1 level or higher (B2+ required to commence with the programme)
  • A university degree
  • The willingness to teach for the Goethe-Institut Bangladesh for at least 2 years (2000 teaching units)
  • Good command of English
  • For non-Bangladeshi: permanent residency and valid work-permit for Bangladesh
